Senior Consultant / Assistant Manager - International Tax Advisory (Transaction Tax)

About the role

EY is hiring a Senior Consultant or Assistant Manager for its International Tax & Transaction Services (ITTS) practice in the Karachi office, supporting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) market. The role has a Transaction Tax Advisory (M&A) focus, advising clients on the tax implications of acquisitions, disposals, refinancing, restructurings and initial public offerings, covering regional and international tax matters such as tax due diligence, permanent establishment, double taxation, cross-border treaties, tax structuring, corporate tax impact assessments, withholding tax and more.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in delivering technically complex international and transaction tax engagements with high technical and practical quality.
• Manage leads and opportunities from other parts of the tax practice and the wider EY network, and help them do the same.
• Contribute to the development of the practice through internal training, precedents, sharing of know-how, team and firm events, internal and external presentations and expert articles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Tax, Economics, Accounting or Finance, or an approved professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA, ATT or ADIT.
• 4 years or more of client-facing tax advisory experience.
• Experience managing a team and/or mentoring junior team members.
• Ideally: broad exposure to transaction tax or international taxation (inbound and outbound investments), advanced knowledge of a particular area of international tax, and any experience with KSA tax regulations.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of international tax and of the tax laws and codes of the jurisdictions worked with.
• Managerial, organizational, project management, analytical and verbal/written communication skills.
• Client-driven approach, strong commercial and strategic awareness, and the ability to motivate project teams.
