Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Ciklum is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its Pakistan team. You will work within a cross‑functional group on the Service Delivery Transformation project, designing and implementing data solutions that support the tax lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy data pipelines and analytics solutions using Apache Spark on Databricks.
• Create and optimise data models, dashboards and reports for business insights.
• Manage data ingestion, real‑time and batch processing, and ensure high performance of SQL and DAX queries.
• Perform performance tuning, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and maintain data quality across multiple storage layers.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on software development and data engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in Apache Spark, Databricks, and Python (PySpark, Pandas).
• Proven ability to work with columnar storage formats such as Parquet and Delta Lake.
• Experience building unit tests for data workloads and applying best DevOps practices.
