Senior DevOps Engineer (Remote, Contract, Anywhere from Pakistan, USD Salary)

About the role

A remote, contract Senior DevOps Engineer position open to candidates based anywhere in Pakistan, paid in USD. The role covers hybrid cloud deployments between on-premises datacenters and Microsoft Azure, with a focus on Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines and multi-environment provisioning.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with coworkers and cross-functional teams, and coordinate with internal and vendor teams on project execution and deployment.
• Partner with the DevOps Architect to keep solutions consistent, high quality and compliant with organizational standards.
• Automate new deployment processes and maintain existing ones to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Recommend improvements to development processes for continuous integration and continuous deployment.
• Manage hybrid deployments across on-premises datacenters and Microsoft Azure.
• Integrate Terraform deployments into existing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Implement automated validations and security scanning for Infrastructure as Code.
• Develop deployment pipelines for multi-environment provisioning (SDB, Dev, Integration, UAT, Production).
• Maintain Terraform code following best practices for modularity, versioning, reusability, security and compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience with public cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure, including hybrid cloud and infrastructure management.
• 5+ years of experience with IaC tools, including Terraform, Bicep and ARM Templates, with expert knowledge of Terraform modules, workspaces, providers, state management and remote state.
• 5+ years of experience with source control systems (GitHub, Bitbucket, Azure Repositories, Team Foundation Server) and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI).
• 3+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).
• 3+ years of experience supporting DevOps/DevSecOps practices, including automated validation and security scanning of IaC.
• Experience with mobile application deployments, Adobe AEM Cloud and GitOps, and configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef and Ansible.
