Senior Full Stack Engineer – IoT Platform

About the role

We are building the AHOY IoT platform end‑to‑end, from device telemetry ingestion to a real‑time web dashboard. As a senior full‑stack engineer you will own complete vertical slices of the product, shaping both backend services and frontend experiences while acting as the technical lead for architecture and AWS infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement multi‑tenant core services such as device registration, authentication, alert engines, notifications and device‑shadow storage.
• Develop MQTT ingestion pipelines (EMQX broker), normalize telemetry and store it in time‑series databases and Aurora PostgreSQL with row‑level security.
• Create versioned REST APIs (OpenAPI) and real‑time WebSocket delivery for high‑concurrency dashboard updates.
• Build the web application using Next.js and TypeScript, including monitoring dashboards, onboarding wizards and admin portals.
• Render live telemetry visualisations (charts, gauges, maps) without lag, handling high‑frequency data streams.
• Provision and maintain AWS environments (UAE region) via Terraform, set up CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, and manage core infrastructure components like Kafka, Redis and InfluxDB.
• Document architecture decisions, runbooks and ensure at least a 4‑hour daily overlap with UAE working hours.

Required profile

• 5‑9 years of full‑stack engineering experience with a portfolio demonstrating production‑grade work on both frontend and backend.
• Strong expertise in React/Next.js, TypeScript and handling high‑frequency data streams via WebSockets.
• Proficiency in Node.js/TypeScript and/or Python, with solid PostgreSQL data‑modeling skills.
• Hands‑on experience with MQTT protocols, device connectivity and cloud‑native DevOps (AWS, Terraform, GitOps).
