Senior ML Engineer / Data Scientist

About the role

GameDistrict is looking for a Senior ML Engineer / Data Scientist to build machine‑learning models that help understand player behavior and improve our mobile games. You will own projects from problem framing through production deployment and impact measurement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain predictive models on player behavior and engagement data.
• Engineer features from large‑scale event and telemetry data.
• Take models to production, including training pipelines, scoring, monitoring, and retraining.
• Design and analyze experiments to measure the impact of model‑driven decisions.

Required profile

• 4–5+ years of hands‑on data science or ML engineering experience with at least two production models.
• Proven work on user‑level predictive modeling (classification, regression, or time‑to‑event).
• Strong statistical knowledge, model evaluation, calibration, and handling of class imbalance.

Required skills

• Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit‑learn)
• SQL on large datasets
• Gradient‑boosted trees: XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost
• MLOps: containers, workflow orchestration, experiment tracking, model monitoring
• Experience with A/B test design and statistical significance analysis
