Senior Project Officer – Energy

About the role

The Asian Development Bank is seeking a Senior Project Officer (Energy) to join its Energy Sector Division and support the Pakistan Resident Mission. Based in Islamabad, you will work on loan and technical assistance processing, portfolio management, and sector analysis with a focus on energy transition, renewable energy, and climate resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead or support the processing and administration of assigned energy‑related loans and technical assistance.
• Conduct research, update sector information, and analyse financial, institutional and economic data.
• Prepare sector assessments, reports and knowledge products for programming and development aid effectiveness.
• Coordinate with government agencies, development partners, private sector entities and other stakeholders.
• Integrate renewable energy, energy efficiency and decarbonisation priorities into project designs and operational plans.
• Identify priority investment concepts and assess readiness for potential ADB support.
• Participate in fact‑finding missions and represent the mission as a team member or co‑leader.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in energy sector projects, preferably within international development.
• Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong analytical and report‑writing skills.
• Experience coordinating multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
