Senior Site Reliability Engineer – Observability (Remote, Pakistan)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer focused on observability to drive proactive reliability across our Python/Django platform. The role is fully remote in Pakistan and requires daily overlap with our Canadian engineering team (10 AM‑2 PM PT). You will work closely with DevOps, software engineers and QA to turn production telemetry into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and own the observability stack (logs, metrics, traces, queues) for a Python/Django application.
• Transform reactive support into proactive monitoring by defining SLIs, SLOs, alerting strategies and incident response practices.
• Investigate production incidents, latency bottlenecks and reliability regressions, delivering root‑cause analysis and remediation plans.
• Leverage AI‑assisted debugging tools (e.g., Cursor) to diagnose performance issues in a monolithic Django codebase and distributed services.
• Design dashboards, alerts and capacity‑monitoring reports to provide clear visibility into system health.
• Guide engineering teams in adopting telemetry‑driven debugging and performance‑analysis practices.

Required profile

• Strong passion for observability, telemetry and production reliability.
• Hands‑on experience with Python and Django in a high‑traffic environment.
• Ability to work remotely while maintaining daily overlap with a Pacific‑time team.
• Proven track record of investigating and resolving complex production incidents.
