Senior SQA Manager (Level I)

About the role

Pakistan Single Window is hiring a Senior SQA Manager (Level I) in Karachi, based on site, within its Innovation & Special Projects department. The role defines the QA strategy (manual and automated) and leads a high-performing engineering team, fostering technical ownership, mentorship and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Define the comprehensive QA strategy (manual and automated) and lead a high-performing engineering team.
• Architect, implement and maintain scalable test automation frameworks to improve testing efficiency, coverage and velocity across all product lines.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines with DevOps and development teams.
• Align testing activities with business requirements, project schedules and release timelines with Product Managers, developers and stakeholders.
• Run complex SQL queries for data reconciliation, perform API load and performance testing, and validate security against OWASP standards.
• Use AI tools and assisted practices to optimise test case generation, defect analysis and coverage.
• Lead release planning, environment coordination, production deployments, smoke testing and post-release verification.
• Drive Root Cause Analysis, manage defects and track quality and performance metrics during production incidents.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or IT, with 10-11+ years of SQA experience and a leadership or team management track record.
• Deep expertise in Agile (Scrum/Kanban), the full SDLC and test strategy design.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries and performing load/performance testing of APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 risks and security scanning tools.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI-assisted testing tools (e.g. Cursor, LLMs) into QA workflows.
• Strong communication skills, stress management and ability to mentor and coach team members.
