Senior SQL Server DBA and Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Blinq Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Server DBA and Infrastructure Engineer to manage, optimise and maintain enterprise‑level SQL Server environments. The role focuses on performance, reliability and security of critical database infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance, security and availability.
• Perform advanced performance tuning using T‑SQL optimisation, execution‑plan analysis and index optimisation.
• Implement High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, including Always On Availability Groups and automated backup/recovery processes.
• Monitor database health, resolve bottlenecks and minimise downtime.
• Manage backup strategies (full, differential, transaction‑log) and execute point‑in‑time recoveries.
• Support Windows Server administration tasks related to the SQL Server infrastructure.
• Deploy, monitor and tune Azure SQL and other cloud‑based database services.
• Document configurations, policies and procedures and collaborate with development and operations teams.

Required profile

• 6 to 9 years of professional experience with SQL Server administration.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively without direct team management.
• Strong understanding of SQL Server architecture, performance tuning, backup strategies and disaster recovery.
