Senior Systems & Virtualization Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems & Virtualization Engineer to manage and support enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, servers, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and hybrid cloud environments. The role will focus on maintaining high availability, performance, security, and resilience across critical business and digital services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments, including HA, DRS, vMotion and Storage vMotion.
• Manage VM provisioning, migrations, upgrades, and performance optimization.
• Support infrastructure hosting ERP systems, digital platforms, investor portals, websites, CRM and internal applications.
• Administer Windows Server and Linux environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file services).
• Maintain Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud infrastructure (compute, storage, networking, identity, migrations).
• Manage SAN/NAS storage and enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam and Azure Backup.
• Conduct backup validation, recovery testing and support disaster‑recovery and business‑continuity activities.
• Monitor infrastructure health, resolve incidents within SLA and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Implement server hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation and security controls.
• Coordinate with datacenter teams, vendors and managed service providers during incidents, upgrades and projects.
• Maintain documentation, diagrams, SOPs, asset records and recovery procedures.
• Support capacity planning, performance optimization and technology upgrades.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in systems administration / infrastructure engineering.
• 3+ years of hands‑on enterprise VMware administration.
• Strong experience supporting enterprise and hybrid cloud environments.
• Proven ability to work with remote teams, vendors and distributed IT environments.
