Service Engineer - Diesel Generators

About the role

KAN Engineering & Services, a Pakistan-based provider of power generation solutions and authorized dealer of John Deere, MAN and SCANIA generators, is hiring a full-time, on-site Service Engineer in Lahore. The engineer installs, commissions, maintains and repairs diesel generator sets and related equipment at customer sites and in the company workshop.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose technical issues and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel generators and related equipment.
• Carry out field service visits and provide technical support to customers to minimize downtime.
• Prepare service reports and coordinate with the parts and logistics teams.
• Ensure all work follows company procedures, safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Explain technical findings clearly to customers and help improve service quality and reliability.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering (or a closely related discipline).
• Hands-on field service experience, including onsite inspections, installations and commissioning of power generation equipment.
• Ability to work independently, manage several service calls and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with industrial and field safety standards.
• Willingness to travel within the region and to take occasional emergency call-outs.
• Previous experience with commercial or industrial generators, especially John Deere, MAN or SCANIA, is an advantage.

Required skills

• Troubleshooting and diagnostics of mechanical, electrical and control systems in diesel generators.
• Maintenance and repair of diesel engines, alternators, control panels and related components.
• Reading manuals, schematics and service bulletins.
