Software Engineer - Human Data Platforms (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms that process human‑generated datasets. The position is fully remote and offers a full‑time, permanent contract with a competitive salary range.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise data pipelines for large‑scale human‑generated data.
• Develop and maintain backend services supporting real‑time and batch processing.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to guarantee platform reliability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that improve scalability and performance.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail when debugging complex systems.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud‑based data infrastructure.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

Required skills

• Python, Java, or Go for backend development.
• Kafka, Spark, or similar distributed processing technologies.
• AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms.
• SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Docker and Kubernetes for containerisation and orchestration.
