About the role
Join Careem’s NextGen Engineering program as a Software Engineer I focused on backend development. You will work on highly distributed systems that power the Careem Engine, gaining accelerated learning alongside senior engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and enhance distributed backend services using Java 8, Spring Boot, and micro‑service architecture.
- Maintain and improve existing features with a strong emphasis on code quality, readability, and testing.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, and other engineers to solve complex, scalable problems.
- Participate as an active member of an autonomous, cross‑functional agile team.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Understanding of object‑oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Ability to solve complex problems and write clean, maintainable code.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Required skills
