STEM Researcher (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified STEM Researcher to work remotely on designing and solving challenging problems that test the limits of large language models. The role is full‑time and ideal for candidates with a Ph.D., post‑doctoral experience, or a strong master’s background in STEM disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve advanced STEM problems to evaluate large language model capabilities.
• Produce clear, step‑by‑step solutions with well‑articulated reasoning.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers to align problem sets with evaluation goals, focusing on abstraction, multi‑step reasoning, and symbolic manipulation.
• Help define new evaluation benchmarks covering physics curricula from early undergraduate to PhD‑level topics.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance analytical workflows and support future AI‑first initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong analytical background in STEM at engineering‑exam, graduate, or PhD level.
• Ability to break down complex concepts into clear, concise explanations.
• Creative and lateral thinking to tackle novel challenges.
• Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.
• Self‑motivated with reliable desktop/laptop and internet connection.
