STEM Researcher (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified STEM Researcher to work remotely on designing and solving challenging problems that test the limits of large language models. The position is full‑time and ideal for candidates with Ph.D., post‑doctoral or advanced master’s experience in STEM fields.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve complex STEM problems to evaluate large language models.
• Produce clear, step‑by‑step solutions with well‑articulated reasoning.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers to align problems with evaluation goals, focusing on abstraction, multi‑step reasoning, and symbolic manipulation.
• Help define new benchmarks based on physics curricula ranging from early undergraduate to PhD‑level topics.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance analytical capabilities and support future AI‑first initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong analytical background in STEM at engineering‑exam, graduate or Ph.D. level.
• Ability to break down complex concepts into simple, clear explanations.
• Creative and lateral thinking for tackling difficult problems.
• Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.
• Self‑motivated, independent worker with reliable computer and internet access.
