Sustainability Officer

About the role

BAT is seeking a Sustainability Officer for its Akora Khattak site in Pakistan. The role supports the EH&S Manager, ensures compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations, and drives sustainable practices across the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Stay updated with the latest regulatory requirements and ensure compliance.
• Assist the EH&S Manager with monthly reporting of Global Reporting Indicators.
• Plan and coordinate fire station operations, including training for employees and contractors.
• Maintain fire equipment, appliances, pumps and tenders to ensure readiness.
• Conduct guarding and interlocking assessments and spot checks to verify compliance.
• Support EH&S reviews and audits at all levels and facilitate environmental testing according to legal requirements and EHS‑IMS guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Good knowledge of national environmental and health & safety laws and legal processes.
• Understanding of EH&S policies, procedures and risk‑management principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
