About the role
We are seeking a remote System Administrator to manage and optimise cloud infrastructure for a global technology leader. The contractor will ensure system reliability, security, and performance across critical environments.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and administer cloud‑based servers, networks and storage on AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve incidents to minimise downtime.
- Implement security best practices, including access controls, vulnerability assessments and compliance checks.
- Automate routine operations using Bash, Python or PowerShell scripts and configuration‑management tools.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deploy updates and troubleshoot complex issues.
Required profile
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong background in Linux/Unix system administration.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN.
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is preferred.
- Experience with monitoring solutions like Nagios, Zabbix or Prometheus.
