Tax Associate (Remote)

About the role

ZS Legal and Tax Associates is a professional services firm offering tax advisory and legal support to individuals, businesses and organizations. It is hiring a full-time remote Tax Associate to support tax planning, preparation and compliance for a diverse portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns and assist with tax filings
• Ensure adherence to relevant tax laws and regulations
• Research tax issues, analyse financial information and prepare documentation and workpapers supporting tax positions
• Collaborate with senior team members on tax advisory projects and respond to client queries
• Help identify opportunities for tax efficiency and risk mitigation
• Maintain organized records, meet deadlines during busy seasons and stay up to date with tax legislation and compliance requirements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field
• Professional certifications such as CPA or EA are an advantage
• Prior experience in public accounting, tax consulting or an in-house tax role is preferred but not mandatory
• Ability to work independently remotely while collaborating with a virtual team
