Team Lead - SMD

About the role

The Team Lead - SMD will oversee shift operations at the manufacturing site, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high product quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and control shift operations to achieve daily, weekly and monthly production targets.
• Ensure high‑quality manufacturing by meeting MQI and FQI targets and reducing market complaints.
• Manage maintenance activities to keep equipment running efficiently and minimise downtime.
• Drive improvements in process reliability, planned and unplanned downtime, and deliver against the Master Production Schedule.
• Mentor and develop operators, promote multiskilling and encourage continuous improvement ideas.
• Maintain positive relations with CBA representatives and ensure compliance with EH&S policies on the shop floor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering.
• 1‑2 years of experience in operations management.
• Proven leadership, decision‑making and resource management abilities.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing and conflict‑management skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SAP.
• Familiarity with Quality systems such as ISO 9001/14001 and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Understanding of the ANT System.
