Testing & Commissioning Engineer

About the role

Avanceon Office is looking for a Testing & Commissioning Engineer to work on a multi-year contract basis. Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans to ensure the reliability and functionality of automation systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues, optimise system performance and minimise downtime.
• Carry out regular system maintenance, including upgrades, backups and configuration activities.
• Provide training and support to operations teams on the use and maintenance of automation systems.
• Document processes, configurations and changes related to automation systems.
• Prepare progress and root cause analysis reports.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering, automation or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in automation as a PLC/RTU programmer and commissioning engineer, preferably on water and wastewater, oil & gas and infrastructure projects.
• UPDA holder.
• Ability to read control system documents and drawings such as P&IDs, layouts and control panel drawings, and to troubleshoot wiring issues.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills, and ability to work independently and manage several projects at once.

Required skills

• PLC and RTU programming: Schneider M580, Rockwell Control & Compact Logix, Siemens S7-300, S7-400, S7-1500, PCS-7, WinCC SCADA, WinCC OA SCADA and TBOX RTU.
• Open communication protocols: Modbus Serial, Modbus RTU, BACnet MSTP, OPC, MQTT, DNP3.
• Familiarity with control panel wiring and instrumentation.
• MS Office; international driving licence preferred.
