Unit Head – CBA Technology (AVP/VP)

About the role

The National Bank of Pakistan is seeking a senior technology leader to head its Core Banking Application (CBA) unit. Reporting to the Wing Head CBA Technology, you will oversee the design, maintenance, and security of the bank's core banking platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure projects, service requests, and escalations are managed according to defined policies, processes, SLAs, and procedures.
• Prioritize and manage the design, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Core Banking Systems and related integrated applications.
• Provide guidance on application security, governance, and compliance for core banking solutions.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 6 years of IT experience, including 3 years hands‑on with core banking system maintenance, configuration, or deployment.
• Experience with FIS PROFILE Core Banking System is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, decision‑making, problem‑solving, and team‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• Database technologies: Oracle, DBSQL, SQL Server, NoSQL.
• Operating systems: Linux and Windows.
• Virtualisation: VMware.
• Version‑control tools: SVN, GitLab.
• Web servers: Apache, WebSphere.
• Core banking platforms (e.g., FIS PROFILE).
• Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
