Unit Head – Data Architect (AVP/VP)

About the role

The National Bank of Pakistan is seeking a senior leader to head its data architecture function. The role will drive the enterprise-wide data strategy, ensuring alignment with digital transformation and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the bank’s enterprise data architecture, covering data warehouse, lake, and lakehouse designs.
• Establish and enforce data governance standards, metadata conventions, and master data management practices.
• Design and implement ETL/ELT, real‑time streaming, API‑based, and event‑driven integration patterns.
• Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, IT, and business teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Mentor the data architecture team and manage vendor relationships for modern data platforms.

Required profile

• Minimum graduation in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 6 years of experience in banking or fintech, including 3 years in data architecture, data modelling, data warehousing, or MDM.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills.
