Unit Head Product Research

About the role

The Unit Head Product Research will lead market intelligence, AI‑driven product analytics and customer insight initiatives to shape the bank's product strategy, improve portfolio performance and drive growth in the microfinance segment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market research on microfinance trends, competitor products and regulatory developments, and produce periodic benchmarking and portfolio quality reports.
• Apply AI tools for customer segmentation, predictive analytics, cross‑sell opportunity identification and generative AI‑assisted product ideation.
• Design and execute customer research methodologies, analyse behaviour across physical and digital channels, and translate insights into product improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Business, Credit, Compliance, Risk, DFI, Communication and Operations teams to turn data into strategic recommendations and support system integration.
• Lead product training, documentation, go‑to‑market plans and field‑force enablement while ensuring adherence to the bank’s core values and responsible AI practices.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in banking, financial services or fintech, with at least 3 years in product management, product analytics, research or business intelligence.
• Experience in microfinance, retail banking, SME or digital financial services is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and strategic initiatives.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications in Business Analytics, AI, Data Science or Digital Banking are a plus.
