Import Operations and Accounts Manager

About the role

The Imports & Accounts Manager at STAR Dyes oversees the company’s import operations while managing related financial activities. This role ensures compliance with customs regulations, coordinates with supply‑chain teams, and leads a small team to achieve cost‑effective procurement and accurate accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage import operations ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and customs documentation.
• Supervise and lead a team of four, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
• Manage vendor relationships to facilitate timely and cost‑effective procurement of imported goods.
• Coordinate with supply‑chain teams to align inventory management and import scheduling.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable functions, maintaining customer and supplier ledgers.
• Assist with monthly financial closing and preparation of financial reports related to import and accounts activities.
• Prepare detailed import costing and calculate landed costs to support budgeting and pricing decisions.
• Implement and monitor cost‑control measures to optimize operational expenses.
• Use ERP software and Inventory Management Systems to track imports and manage inventory efficiently.
• Ensure adherence to customs regulations, import documentation management, and compliance with Incoterms.

Required profile

• Proven experience in import operations, customs compliance and international trade regulations.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting and monthly closing processes.
• Ability to lead, train and evaluate a small team to meet departmental goals.
