About the role
The Unit Head – Shariah Reporting & Special Projects (AVP) will lead the Shariah compliance aspect of financial reporting for Islamic banking products, ensuring accurate accounting treatment and regulatory adherence.
Key responsibilities
- Review accounting and financial reporting of Islamic banking products from a Shariah compliance perspective.
- Ensure proper presentation, disclosure, and purification of Islamic assets, liabilities, income, and expenses.
- Coordinate with the Shariah Board, Internal Audit and External Auditors on finance‑related Shariah observations.
- Maintain trackers of Shariah observations, remediation status, and a repository of approved Shariah rulings.
Required profile
- Minimum 6 years banking experience, including at least 2 years in Islamic financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, SBP regulatory framework and AAOIFI standards.
- Ability to interpret Shariah rulings and translate them into accounting requirements.
- Excellent analytical, data‑mining and communication skills.
