About the role

The Unit Head – Shariah Reporting & Special Projects (AVP) will lead the Shariah compliance aspect of financial reporting for Islamic banking products, ensuring accurate accounting treatment and regulatory adherence.

Key responsibilities

  • Review accounting and financial reporting of Islamic banking products from a Shariah compliance perspective.
  • Ensure proper presentation, disclosure, and purification of Islamic assets, liabilities, income, and expenses.
  • Coordinate with the Shariah Board, Internal Audit and External Auditors on finance‑related Shariah observations.
  • Maintain trackers of Shariah observations, remediation status, and a repository of approved Shariah rulings.

Required profile

  • Minimum 6 years banking experience, including at least 2 years in Islamic financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, SBP regulatory framework and AAOIFI standards.
  • Ability to interpret Shariah rulings and translate them into accounting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, data‑mining and communication skills.
