Urdu Transcription Expert (Remote, Pakistan)

About the role

A fully remote Urdu Transcription Expert position, open to candidates based in Pakistan, is available as a contractor. The work supports a project for a valued customer and helps train next-generation AI systems by providing high-quality, real-world Urdu input. No prior experience in AI is required; domain knowledge is what matters. Pay is $10-$22 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Transcribe audio and video content in Urdu with exceptional accuracy and attention to linguistic nuances.
• Review and refine existing Urdu transcriptions, ensuring clarity, consistency and fidelity to the spoken content.
• Annotate transcripts with relevant metadata and speaker details as required by project guidelines.
• Collaborate remotely with linguistic experts and project managers to address queries and improve processes.
• Meet quality standards and project timelines for submitting transcription tasks.

Required profile

• Native or near-native Urdu, including regional dialects and contemporary usage (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in transcription, translation or linguistic annotation, particularly in Urdu (preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to give clear feedback and explanations.
• Adaptability to projects in language technology and data annotation.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of Urdu grammar, spelling and colloquial expressions.
• Familiarity with digital transcription tools and multimedia content management (preferred).
• Proficiency with remote collaboration platforms (preferred).
