Vaccine Administrator (Mass Vaccination)

About the role

A client in Peshawar is looking for a Vaccine Administrator to join a team delivering safe and effective mass vaccination services. The post holder administers vaccines to clients within a clinical team, under the direction and supervision of a registered health care professional.

Key responsibilities

• Administer vaccines correctly according to guidelines, maintaining strict aseptic technique
• Report and record measles cases and carry out ring immunization, catch-up campaigns and other supplemental immunization activities
• Work with local health workers, community promoters and other staff to avoid missed opportunities, follow up due children and trace defaulters, and coordinate birth registration, reporting and growth monitoring
• Maintain accurate records of coverage and EPI registers, including daily and permanent registers and lists of due and defaulters updated monthly
• Counsel caregivers on preventive health, vaccination schedules and follow-up
• Receive vaccines from the field office and ensure the cold chain is maintained until immunization

Required profile

• Diploma in Vaccinator or Health from a recognized centre
• 1-2 years of experience in healthcare settings, preferably in roles involving injections or vaccine administration (e.g. nursing, medical assisting)

Required skills

• Hands-on experience giving intramuscular, subcutaneous and intradermal injections
• Familiarity with vaccine types (childhood immunizations, travel vaccines, COVID-19, flu) and scheduling protocols
• Understanding of cold chain requirements for vaccines
