Visual Journalist – 2-Year Contract in Karachi

About the role

CNA Digital is looking for a Visual Journalist to join its team in Karachi on a two‑year contract. The role supports the agency’s correspondents across Pakistan, capturing high‑quality photos and videos that bring stories to life for digital and social platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with correspondents in the field to shoot photographs and video footage that accurately reflect the story.
• Assist with camera setup, lighting, and audio capture during on‑location recordings.
• Edit images and produce engaging short‑form videos for online and social media distribution.
• Work closely with the visuals editorial team in Singapore to ensure consistency and editorial standards.
• Stay up‑to‑date with social‑media trends and tailor visual content for each platform.
• Occasionally conduct independent reporting assignments as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in visual journalism or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to operate professional photography and videography equipment.
• Strong portfolio showcasing both photo and video work, including short‑form social media pieces.
• Fluent in English and Urdu (or other local languages).

Required skills

• Professional camera operation (photography and videography).
• Video editing using industry‑standard software.
• Mobile device filming and publishing.
• Drone operation (advantageous).
