Wing Head – Security Operations & Threat Management (VP/SVP)

About the role

National Bank of Pakistan is seeking a senior leader to head its Security Operations and Threat Management wing. The role reports to the Chief Information Security Officer and is responsible for overseeing the SOC, threat detection, incident response and security automation across on‑premise and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor security events and drive proactive threat detection and response using SIEM, SOAR and XDR platforms.
• Lead the Incident Management & Response program, applying MITRE ATT&CK and Cyber Kill Chain frameworks.
• Supervise SOC monitoring, SIEM engineering, threat intelligence, detection engineering and incident response teams.
• Manage cloud‑based SIEM, XDR and SOAR solutions supporting international operations.
• Develop security operation metrics, executive dashboards and conduct tabletop/Purple Team exercises.
• Perform threat modelling (STRIDE, PASTA) and attack‑path analysis, recommending mitigations.
• Coordinate with IT, Business, Legal, Compliance, vendors and senior management on security matters.

Required profile

• Minimum graduation in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security or IT; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of IT/network/data‑center experience, with 5 years in information security operations at a managerial level.
• Strong knowledge of SBP information‑security guidelines and frameworks.
• Excellent interpersonal and people‑management abilities.

• Relevant certifications: CISSP, CISM, CompTIA CySA+, GIAC (GSOC).
