Women Medical Officer (WMO) – Full-Time

About the role

The Women Medical Officer (WMO) will deliver comprehensive clinical care to female patients across outpatient, inpatient and labour ward settings in Swabi. This full‑time, on‑site position involves independent management of antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, as well as leadership in obstetric emergencies and teaching responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical consultation and care to female patients in OPD and wards.
• Independently manage antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal patients.
• Lead senior clinical decisions in the labour ward and interpret CTG traces.
• Escalate fetal or maternal concerns promptly.
• Handle obstetric emergencies such as PPH, eclampsia, sepsis and shoulder dystocia.
• Perform obstetric procedures and emergency surgeries (abdominal hysterectomy, laparotomy for ectopic pregnancy, ovarian cystectomy).
• Manage acute gynecological emergencies.
• Participate in clinical audits, research projects and implement evidence‑based guidelines.
• Teach and supervise junior doctors and medical students.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using electronic health records.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent with PMDC registration.
• Minimum 2 years of dedicated Obstetrics & Gynecology experience.
• Proven ability to independently manage antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care.
• Leadership experience in labour ward and senior decision‑making.
• Experience with obstetric emergencies and related surgical procedures.
• Familiarity with clinical documentation and medico‑legal standards.
