Accountant – SMSF Experience Preferred (Remote, AEST)

About the role

We are looking for experienced accountants to join Bettersource’s offshore team in Pakistan, providing accounting services to Australian clients. The role operates on Australian Eastern Standard Time and offers the chance to work remotely while handling SMSF and compliance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with clients to obtain data, records, and documentation required for accounting and compliance purposes.
• Prepare financial statements and tax returns accurately in accordance with Australian standards.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive workpapers supporting financial statements and tax returns.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate with auditors and regulatory bodies where required.
• Identify actual or potential compliance issues and escalate appropriately.
• Manage pension compliance and reporting requirements.
• Support workflow management and maintain regular communication with management regarding key matters.
• Ensure all lodgement and reporting deadlines are met.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in an outsourced or offshore service environment.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Prior SMSF accounting experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
