Accounting Manager

About the role

Mayatax is looking for a dynamic, client‑facing Accounting Manager to lead its high‑performing accounting operations team. The role combines deep technical accounting expertise with strong client management and leadership in a fast‑paced BPO environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage junior and mid‑level accountants, ensuring daily workloads are balanced and client delivery timelines are met.
• Oversee month‑end closing processes and prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Review journal entries, accruals, provisions and complex ledger reconciliations for high‑volume transactional and subscription‑type revenue streams.
• Maintain strict internal controls and compliance with accounting standards and US corporate requirements.
• Perform detailed financial data analytics and continuously identify process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting & Finance, ACCA, CA (qualified, part‑qualified or finalist).
• 5‑8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a BPO or shared‑services environment serving international, especially US‑based, clients.
• 2‑3 years of direct supervisory experience managing a team of accountants.
• Strong hands‑on experience with US GAAP and international client accounting operations.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, complex formulas).
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and other US‑market accounting software.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
