AI Engineering Lead – Build Production-Ready AI Systems

About the role

CoPilot Innovations, a subsidiary of The Plumtree Group, is seeking an AI Engineering Lead to serve as the technical authority across its engineering team. This hands‑on leadership position combines building production‑ready AI systems with coaching engineers, reviewing architectures, and setting strong engineering standards for both internal projects and client engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing AI engineering team while establishing engineering standards across multiple client engagements.
• Translate complex AI concepts into clear, practical direction for business and technical audiences.
• Architect and deliver end‑to‑end production‑grade AI solutions, including ML and generative/agent‑based approaches.
• Act as a trusted advisor in shaping AI roadmaps, solution design, and delivery approaches.
• Define best practices for AI‑first software development, cloud deployment, and engineering quality.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Python and modern LLM applications, RAG, and agentic workflows.
• Proven track record mentoring or leading engineering teams.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain AI trade‑offs to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
