About the role

The AI Engineering Team Lead at CodeNinja is a senior, hands‑on leader who delivers high‑impact AI‑enabled software while guiding a small team of AI Engineers. The role blends deep individual contribution with day‑to‑day technical leadership, ensuring AI is applied responsibly and at production scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate agentic AI systems that use autonomous tools and multi‑step workflows.
• Write production‑grade code, define Model Context Protocols (MCPs), and enforce team‑wide patterns.
• Mentor engineers, maintain a high bar for execution, and oversee feature‑level quality from testing to CI/CD to production readiness.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional Engineering, Product, and AI stakeholders in an Agile environment.
• Scale AI systems by addressing latency, cost, caching, parallelization, and architecture trade‑offs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive hands‑on experience designing and operating agentic AI systems in production.
• Strong mastery of Model Context Protocols or equivalent approaches.
• Deep technical understanding of AI models, including versions, parameter scales, context‑window limits, and prompt strategies.
• Proven ability to evaluate frontier and open‑source models and make informed trade‑off decisions.
