Assistant Engineer – Electrical Maintenance

About the role

The Assistant Engineer – Electrical Maintenance will support the plant’s electrical and electronic systems, ensuring reliable operation of machinery in our steel and pipe coating facilities. Reporting to the Manager Engineering Services, the role combines preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance plans for production equipment, including coating and pipe plants.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives, motors and associated electronic drives.
• Maintain and troubleshoot specialised equipment such as ultrasonic testing machines, fluoroscopic testing machines, X‑ray machines, induction heating units and PID controllers.
• Interpret electrical drawings, relay logic and programmable logic circuits to support corrective actions.
• Coordinate with the QAHSE department to apply QHSE policies during maintenance activities.
• Schedule and record maintenance tasks in the ERP system and monitor condition‑based indicators.

Required profile

• B.Sc./B.E. in Electrical, Electronics or Industrial Electronics Engineering from a PEC‑recognized university (minimum 3.0 CGPA).
• Maximum age 30 years.
• 2–3 years of industrial experience with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives and plant electrical systems.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving and multi‑tasking abilities.
