Assistant Engineer HSE (Hub/Winder/Uthal/Bela)

About the role

The Assistant Engineer HSE supports the implementation and daily operation of health, safety and environmental management across assigned units. Working closely with supervisors and contractors, the role ensures safe practices, hazard identification and contributes to a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of facilities, grids and field sites to identify safety hazards.
• Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and risk assessments, recommending mitigation measures.
• Assist in developing and delivering safety awareness campaigns, training sessions and drills.
• Record, report and investigate safety incidents and near‑misses, tracking corrective actions.
• Support the implementation of HSEQ and Process Safety Management frameworks.
• Coordinate with internal teams and contractors to ensure compliance with SOPs and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, dashboards, audit logs and documentation.
• Help prepare emergency response procedures and verify safety equipment readiness.

Required profile

• DAE (Diploma of Associate Engineering) in a relevant discipline.
• 2–3 years of HSE experience in utility, industrial or energy sectors.
• Preferred certifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 training.

Required skills

• Hazard identification and inspection.
• Risk assessment and Job Safety Analysis.
• Incident investigation and reporting.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Familiarity with NEBOSH and IOSH certification requirements.
