Assistant Manager – Big Data Administrator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to administer our Cloudera Hadoop ecosystem. The role focuses on ensuring cluster stability, performance, and security while supporting data ingestion and analytics workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) or CDH clusters in production and non‑production environments.
• Monitor cluster health, performance and resource utilization, performing upgrades, patches and migrations with minimal downtime.
• Manage Hadoop ecosystem components such as HDFS, YARN, Hive, Impala, Spark, HBase, Kafka, Oozie, Zookeeper, Ranger and Atlas.
• Implement security controls using Kerberos, Ranger and LDAP/AD integration and manage user access and privileges.
• Automate routine tasks with Python, shell scripting or Ansible and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and job failures.
• Support backup, disaster recovery planning and generate reports on usage, performance and capacity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4–7 years of hands‑on experience administering Cloudera/Hadoop ecosystems.
• Strong Linux/Unix system administration skills and proficiency in shell scripting.
• Experience with security tools (Kerberos, Ranger, LDAP/AD) and cluster monitoring via Cloudera Manager.
