Assistant Manager HR

About the role

CMH METLABS is a full-service chemical testing and metallurgy laboratory serving industrial, manufacturing, construction, aerospace and energy clients. It is hiring an Assistant Manager HR to support the people function in Karachi while coordinating HR operations remotely. The role calls for sound judgment, discretion, strong follow-through and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Support workforce planning, recruitment coordination, interview scheduling, onboarding and employee documentation.
• Maintain accurate personnel files, attendance records, leave data, HR reports and confidential employment information.
• Assist with payroll inputs, benefits administration, policy implementation and routine HR compliance activities.
• Respond to employee queries and help resolve workplace concerns fairly and professionally.
• Coordinate performance review cycles, training records, staff engagement activities and departmental HR requirements.
• Prepare management reports and provide practical HR support to laboratory, technical and administrative teams.

Required profile

• Hands-on knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, attendance and leave management, personnel records and the employee lifecycle.
• Working understanding of payroll coordination, employment policies, performance management and workplace compliance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for employee support and management coordination.
• Excellent organization, prioritization, problem-solving and follow-up skills in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to support multiple departments and build constructive relationships with technical and non-technical staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, and email.
• Digital record-keeping systems.
