Unit Head – Fraud Cases (VP)

About the role

National Bank of Pakistan is hiring a Unit Head – Fraud Cases (VP) in Karachi, reporting to the Wing Head of the Employee Disciplinary Wing. The role oversees the end-to-end handling of disciplinary and fraud-related cases, from investigation reports to final disposal, in line with the bank's Employee Discipline Policy and prescribed procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee disciplinary cases from receipt of investigation reports to final disposal, ensuring compliance with the Employee Discipline Policy, SOPs, rules and timelines.
• Scrutinize investigation reports from FID and other functions, check findings and evidence, and arrange clarifications or corrections.
• Supervise preparation of cases for submission to PCSIC, DCC and other competent authorities, and prepare reasoned case summaries and office notes.
• Handle charge sheets, replies from accused officials, enquiries, suspension extensions and postings during suspension.
• Review appeal cases and time-bound punishments, and coordinate with parent offices, FID, Legal Division and investigators.
• Maintain case-wise MIS, track pending actions and report status to senior management.

Required profile

• Minimum graduation from a university or college recognized by the HEC of Pakistan; law or master's degree or relevant professional certification preferred.
• At least 8 years of HR experience in banking or financial institutions, including at least 4 years in employee relations or fraud investigation.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, service orientation and knowledge of HR functions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Understanding of HR functions.
