Assistant Manager, Library Information Services

About the role

Riphah International University is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Library Information Services department in Islamabad. The role supports daily library operations, ensuring smooth delivery of user services and maintaining an organized library environment for students, faculty, and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day library operations including circulation, shelving, and user assistance.
• Perform basic cataloguing activities to organize and maintain library materials.
• Maintain and update library records accurately using computer systems, databases, and standard office software.
• Respond to user queries and coordinate with library staff to provide efficient service delivery.
• Contribute to planning and implementation of library programs and events.
• Monitor and manage library inventory to ensure resources are current and in good condition.
• Collaborate with university departments and external partners to enhance information services.
• Utilise project management skills to support library initiatives and optimise resource allocation.
• Analyse library usage data to inform decision‑making and service improvements.
• Support training and guidance of junior staff and volunteers.

Required profile

• MLIS or MPhil in Library and Information Science or Information Management from a recognised university.
• Minimum five years of practical experience in a university library setting.
• Strong organisational abilities and capacity to handle multiple administrative tasks.
