Associate General Manager - Underwriting (Life Insurance)

About the role

HZR Talent Partners is recruiting an Associate General Manager for Underwriting (Individual Life and Group Benefits) in Karachi. This is a full-time, on-site position leading the head underwriting functions, with a salary of 670,000 to 715,000 PKR plus other benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Lead both the Individual Life and Group Benefits portfolios.
• Shape underwriting standards, guide complex business decisions and optimise treaty and facultative reinsurance arrangements.
• Partner with sales and actuarial teams, champion process automation and mentor a high-performing technical team.
• Make definitive risk decisions on high-impact individual and group cases within approved authority limits.
• Manage Group Life pricing, quotations, renewals and account servicing.
• Strengthen compliance, governance, controls and operational workflows across the department.

Required profile

• At least 15 years of life insurance underwriting experience covering individual and group lines, in insurance, banking or financial services, preferably at a senior level.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree plus a professional FLMI qualification.
