Associate Professor of English

About the role

The University seeks an Associate Professor of English to join its School of Health and Arts Sciences. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and community engagement, fostering an interdisciplinary environment that bridges English studies with health and artistic disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate modules in areas related to health, arts, and English.
• Design and implement appropriate assessment methods, ensuring standards and timelines are met.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and advise on academic progress.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations or projects within the relevant specialisations.
• Conduct research and scholarly activities, aligning outcomes with teaching objectives and university goals.
• Contribute to knowledge transfer, consultancy, and income‑generation initiatives.
• Develop new programmes and revise existing curricula to reflect current developments.
• Collaborate with internal departments, external institutions, industry partners, and government bodies.
• Offer student support, counselling, and tutorials, and participate in recruitment and marketing efforts.

Required profile

• PhD, MS or MPhil in English or a related discipline, meeting HEC criteria.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Proven record of research publications and scholarly activity.
• Ability to design curricula, assessments, and learning materials.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills for interdisciplinary work.
