AVP Technology – UNIX & J2EE Platforms

About the role

The AVP Technology – UNIX & J2EE Platforms role is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of large‑scale UNIX environments and J2EE applications. You will ensure platform stability, security, and performance while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 24×7 BAU support for incident, change, and problem management.
• Perform OS migrations, upgrades (Red Hat, AIX) and hardening according to CIS baselines.
• Manage OS patching for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, IBM AIX, HP‑UX and related satellite systems.
• Install, configure and maintain IBM Power, Oracle Exadata, HP, Dell and x86 hardware.
• Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation workflows.
• Handle firmware upgrades and hyper‑converged hardware maintenance.
• Support virtualization platforms such as VMware, Red Hat OpenShift, IBM VIOS and HP VSP.
• Deploy and manage container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Oversee Azure Cloud virtualization and cloud‑portal management.
• Monitor system health, capacity and performance, and execute application deployments.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting UNIX platforms in large‑scale environments.
• Hands‑on expertise with Red Hat, IBM AIX, HP‑UX and Oracle Linux.
• Strong background in virtualization, containerization and cloud technologies.
• Ability to work in a 24×7 support model and manage complex infrastructure projects.
