Business Development Officer - Sales

About the role

The Business Development Officer (BDO) drives business growth by generating new leads, building strategic client relationships and closing sales deals. The role covers the full sales cycle, from prospecting and first contact to presentations, contract negotiation and securing long-term clients.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new market opportunities through outbound cold calling, email campaigns, networking and direct prospecting
• Manage the sales pipeline from outreach and presentations to contract negotiation and deal closure
• Build and maintain trust-based relationships with corporate clients, business owners and key decision-makers
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to refine sales approaches
• Maintain accurate sales records, track leads and manage client data in CRM tools to forecast weekly and monthly sales
• Meet or exceed individual and team sales targets and KPIs
• Work with marketing and customer service teams to align promotions and support client onboarding

Required profile

• 1-3+ years of experience in sales, business development or client acquisition
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or a related field; equivalent relevant experience accepted
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Proven ability to pitch products or services and close deals
• Target-driven mindset, problem-solving ability and resilience under pressure

Required skills

• Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot or Zoho
• Basic tools such as MS Office / Google Workspace
