Cashier

About the role

This is a cashier position within a large international logistics company that has been active in more than 220 countries since pioneering cross-border express delivery in 1969. The role focuses on managing daily cash and payment collections from couriers, keeping accurate records and ensuring timely handover to Finance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily cash and payment collection from couriers, counting, verifying and reconciling against system records.
• Follow up with couriers to collect outstanding customer payments within approved timelines.
• Receive and process cash, cheques and pay orders from internal stakeholders, with accurate documentation.
• Reconcile daily collections, investigate discrepancies and resolve payment issues with the relevant teams.
• Hand over daily cash, cheques, pay orders and payment details to Finance on time.
• Maintain payment records, prepare daily collection reports and submit required documents to Finance.
• Coordinate with Operations, Finance, Commercial, Administration and IT on discrepancies and system issues.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, cash-handling protocols and information security, and keep cash secure.
• Identify ways to improve collection efficiency, reconciliation accuracy and payment processing.

Required profile

• Graduate degree, preferably in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in cash handling, payment processing, cashier operations or financial administration.
• Good understanding of cash management, payment documentation and basic financial controls.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, able to meet strict daily deadlines.
• Integrity, accountability and discretion with financial transactions and confidential information.

Required skills

• Strong numerical, analytical and reconciliation skills with high accuracy.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Outlook, with the ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with internal stakeholders.
