Cashier – Retail Bookstore

About the role

Librum Bookstore in Lahore is looking for a reliable, customer‑oriented Cashier to manage checkout operations in a busy retail book environment. You will be the primary point of contact for customers at the register and help keep daily store activities running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system to process sales, returns and exchanges accurately.
• Handle cash, card and digital payments; balance the cash drawer and prepare end‑of‑day reports.
• Greet customers, answer basic product or location queries and assist with price or promotion questions.
• Pack and bag purchases, issue receipts and ensure correct pricing and barcode scanning.
• Support inventory tasks such as restocking shelves, receiving deliveries and inspecting items for damage or mispricing.
• Maintain a clean, organized checkout area and follow store policies on refunds and exchanges.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of retail or cash‑handling experience.
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash‑handling procedures.
• Strong numeracy and accuracy for cash‑drawer reconciliation.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for customer interaction.
• Reliable timekeeping, integrity and ability to stand for extended periods.
