China-to-USA Sourcing Specialist – Construction Products

About the role

MID Construction Group is looking for a China-to-USA Sourcing Specialist to identify, qualify and negotiate with Chinese manufacturers of construction products for U.S. projects. The role requires hands‑on experience sourcing from China, supplier qualification, cost analysis and independent project management.

Key responsibilities

• Source and evaluate reliable Chinese manufacturers through platforms such as Alibaba, 1688, Made‑in‑China and Global Sources.
• Compare suppliers on price, specifications, MOQ, lead times and quality.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and contracts with selected suppliers.
• Request and assess product samples, certifications and quality documentation.
• Calculate total landed costs, including shipping, duties, tariffs and other import fees.
• Contrast China sourcing costs with U.S. market pricing to determine commercial viability.
• Coordinate orders, production schedules, freight forwarding and logistics to ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain long‑term relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders and logistics partners.

Required profile

• 2–5+ years of hands‑on China sourcing or procurement experience, preferably for construction or building materials.
• Proven ability to negotiate supplier terms and qualify manufacturers.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping, Incoterms and landed‑cost calculations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for cost modeling and analysis.
• Experience using sourcing platforms such as Alibaba, 1688, Made‑in‑China and Global Sources.
• Knowledge of Incoterms and landed‑cost calculation methodologies.
