Civil Engineering Manager

About the role

The Civil Engineering Manager will lead the civil function at a large manufacturing site, overseeing new capital projects and the long‑term reliability of plant and township infrastructure. This senior position combines strategic planning, project delivery, and maintenance oversight to ensure structural integrity in a heavy‑industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all civil engineering activities across the plant and residential township, aligning work with business strategy and budget constraints.
• Direct concept, feasibility, design, engineering and construction management of new civil CAPEX, brownfield, and infrastructure projects, ensuring schedule, budget and quality compliance.
• Manage routine civil maintenance, inspection programs and preventive/predictive maintenance to minimise downtime and protect assets in corrosive chemical settings.
• Develop and enforce SOPs, drive process optimisation, and manage departmental OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
• Onboard, evaluate and supervise contractors, guaranteeing safety, quality and accountability.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• PgMP or PfMP certification preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of progressive civil engineering experience, with extensive work in heavy‑industrial sectors such as fertilizer, chemical, petrochemical or power generation.
• Proven leadership in large‑scale project execution and complex plant civil maintenance.
