Clinical Optometrist – Eye Care Specialist (Remote)

About the role

Riphah International University is seeking a Clinical Optometrist to provide expert eye‑care services within its university‑affiliated clinics. The position combines patient‑focused clinical work with teaching and supervision of optometry students during their practical training.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, assessing visual acuity, binocular vision and overall eye health using standardized methods and ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the Electronic Medical Records system, ensuring continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
• Manage clinical duties efficiently, including timely assessments, referrals and follow‑ups to meet departmental performance targets.
• Instruct and mentor optometry students in clinical skills, facilitating hands‑on learning and supervising their rotations at affiliated sites.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver integrated eye‑care services and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated on advances in optometry practice and emerging technologies to enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Optometry or a related field.
• One to two years of clinical experience in optometry.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a commitment to patient care and student mentorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records systems.
